In this specific hotel, the Turtle Care Project has been set up by Shangri-La’s Barr Al Jissah Resort & Spa as part of Sanctuary, Shangri-La’s Care for Nature Project. The aim is to help protect the region’s endangered hawksbill and green turtles as well as educate the guests and local communities about these wonderful creatures. A dedicated turtle manager is based on site who looks after the full hatchery and upkeep of the turtles as and when they come to shore.
