OVERNIGHT FLIGHT TO DELHI
Prepare for an overnight flight to Delhi as you head to the airport.
Upon arrival, we'll transfer to a five-star hotel in New Delhi for a one-night stay. After a brief respite, our guided orientation tour of New Delhi begins. Designed by Sir Edwin Lutyens in 1911, this imperial city features wide avenues and historical sites like the former Viceroy's Palace, now the Presidential Palace. The tour includes a stroll along Rajpath, passing India Gate and government offices, along with visits to older monuments such as Qutub Minar, India's tallest stone tower. Enjoy the liberty to select your own lunch and dinner spots, guided by our expert tour manager and local guide for authentic Indian flavours.
OLD DELHI & TRAIN TO AGRA
This morning, our exploration continues with a guided walking tour of Old Delhi by Salaam Baalak Trust. Traverse narrow alleys and bustling bazaars, gaining unique insight into the lives of former street children. Their first-hand stories and hidden local gems enrich this enlightening experience. Following the tour, we ride bicycle-driven rickshaws through Chandni Chowk, a centuries-old neighbourhood in Old Delhi. Amid craftsmen, jewellers, and eateries, experience the vibrant culture and spice markets. Savour Indian street food like stuffed parathas and jalebis, immersing in local life.
After a self-discovered lunch in Old Delhi, we embark on a train journey to Agra, reaching the second city of the golden triangle by late afternoon.
Early rise to witness the sunrise embrace the Taj Mahal, its marble splendour reflecting in the Yamuna River's mist. This 'Crown Jewel of India,' built over 22 years by 20,000 craftsmen, epitomizes meticulous symmetry and history, earning its world wonder status. Next, explore Agra Fort's red sandstone magnificence, a Mogul Empire palace more than a mere fort. The afternoon offers free time, and in the evening, opt for a sunset Taj Mahal visit, the Mohabat-e-Taj show, or visits to Baby Taj and Moonlight Garden, all with dinner at local eateries.
Post breakfast, we journey from Agra to the ancient marvel of Fatehpur Sikri, Emperor Akbar's Imperial capital since 1571. Despite abandonment 15 years later, the city endures in exceptional preservation. Stroll through its fortified magnificence, adorned with palaces, expansive courtyards, and intricate carvings.
End route to our day's final destination, the 'Pink City' of Jaipur in Rajasthan, we pause for lunch—a chance to savour local delicacies. Renowned for its rosy-hued walls and buildings, Jaipur awaits with its distinctive charm and historic allure.
JAIPUR & AMBER FORT
In the final stop of India's famed Golden Triangle, Jaipur, we wake to explore the grand Amber Fort. The guided tour unveils the Maharajah's private sections, a hall of mirrors adorned with delicate convex mirrors, marble floors cut from Taj Mahal quarries, and exquisite Belgian crystal chandeliers.
Post-lunch at your leisure, our exploration of Jaipur continues. Discover the majestic City Palace, residence of the present Maharajah, housing rich collections of costumes, carpets, paintings, and an impressive armoury. The day's pinnacle is the visit to The Jantar Mantar, a preserved 1726 astronomical observatory, a historical gem among India's observatories.
FLIGHT TO MUMBAI
Following breakfast, we bid adieu to the 'Pink City' and fly to Maharashtra's capital, Mumbai. Once Bombay until 1995, Mumbai's cultural prominence is inseparable from Bollywood and iconic landmarks. Checking into a luxurious Collabra five-star hotel, enjoy a heritage walk led by a butler. Discover the storied Taj Mahal Palace, an iconic 1902 hotel, unveiling tales in every corner. The tour concludes at Sea Lounge for an indulgent Afternoon Tea, blending colonial charm with art deco elegance and sweeping Arabian Sea vistas.
Explore Mumbai's cultural tapestry, historical treasures, and vibrant markets. Begin at the iconic 'Gateway of India,' a basalt marvel commemorating King George V's visit. Visit the renowned Prince of Wales Museum, admire Flora Fountain's artistry, and engage with the Gandhi Museum. Marvel at Marine Drive's illuminated splendour. For dinner, savour local delights at a city restaurant.
FLIGHT TO DABOLIM, GOA
Today, we board a flight to reach the serene coastal haven of South Goa, where we'll enjoy a five-night retreat.
Discover Goa's captivating blend of sandy beaches, delectable seafood, and verdant landscapes during a tranquil five-night retreat in South Goa. A fusion of Indian and Portuguese influences, this region boasts historic churches, temples, and cultural treasures.
Indulge in four days of sun-soaked relaxation by the beach or poolside. Alternatively, venture into the local area for exploration. Consider upgrading to the opulent Taj Exotic Resort & Spa, spread over 56 acres and offering a blend of old-world charm, dining options, a pool, golf green, and spa.
On Day 11, an afternoon sightseeing tour awaits. Visit UNESCO-listed Basilica of Bom Jesus and embark on a guided heritage walk, uncovering Panjim City's historical Portuguese houses, streets, and buildings. The day culminates with an included dinner at a Portuguese Goan restaurant.
